A Training Day focused on preparing the Northern Irish Men’s Foil Team for the Commonwealth Championships (due to take place in Largs, Scotland from 10th to 15th November) will be held on Sunday 24th August at Penistone Grammar School Sports Centre, Huddersfield Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S36 7BX.  The day will run from 10:00am till 4:00pm.  This event will also be open to a selection of invited good quality competitive foilists.

The focus of the day will be to explore and develop through intense competitive fencing combined with coaching and instruction, the range of situations which can occur in team matches, for e.g. having to score lots of points in limited time, having to last 3 minutes without giving away points, making quick tactical assessments of how to approach team bouts etc.  There will also be opportunities for individual lessons.
